Upgrade to New Lux Windows and Doors with CEIP Financing

Clean Energy Improvement Program
Getting new windows is a big investment. And with the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) available in Calgary and Edmonton, many homeowners will be exploring upgrades that improve comfort and energy efficiency.
CEIP helps remove one of the biggest barriers to home improvements: upfront cost. Through the program, homeowners can finance up to 100% of eligible upgrade costs and repay the amount over time through their property tax bill, often over terms of up to 20 years depending on the lifespan of the upgrades. The financing is tied to the property rather than the homeowner, meaning if the home is sold, the balance can either be paid off or transferred to the new owner.
For a limited time, the City of Calgary is also offering an incentive that can reduce project financing by up to 10% once the upgrades are completed, applied directly to the Clean Energy Improvement Tax while supplies last.
In Edmonton, the City of Edmonton administers the program with its own city-specific interest rates. Homeowners in both cities are encouraged to reach out to their local Lux team for the most current and relevant program information
CEIP supports upgrades that improve a home's energy performance, including improvements to the building envelope such as windows and doors. To participate, homeowners must apply and be approved before starting work, and upgrades must be completed using contractors listed in the program’s Qualified Contractors Directory—Lux Windows and Doors is included in this directory.
This program creates a great opportunity for homeowners to invest in upgrades that improve comfort and efficiency.
As you explore your options, it’s important to look beyond financing and consider the quality of both the product and the installation.
Here are a few questions every homeowner should ask their windows and doors contractor before making a decision:
How long has your company been in business in Alberta?
Experience in our climate matters. Alberta’s temperature swings and weather conditions require installation methods and products designed specifically for this environment. With nearly 60 years serving Alberta homeowners, we’ve seen it all. That experience means we understand how homes perform here and how to manufacture and install windows and doors that stand up to our conditions for the long term.
Working with a well-established local company gives homeowners added peace of mind, knowing their investment is supported by years of experience and a track record of reliable service.
What city is your manufacturing plant in?
Knowing where your windows are made can tell you a lot about quality control, lead times and whether the product is built for Canadian conditions. Lux sources materials from across North America and manufactures and assembles our windows and doors in Alberta. Keeping production local allows us to maintain high quality standards while ensuring our products are designed with the realities of our climate in mind.
What installation method will you use for my replacement?
There are several ways windows can be replaced, and the installation method can affect long-term performance. Some installers fit new windows into the existing frames, while others remove the old frames but install the new window into the opening using only sealant. These approaches are often faster and less invasive, but can increase the risk of water and air infiltration by limiting proper inspection and preparation of the opening.
Full-frame replacement allows the old frames to be removed so the opening can be properly inspected and prepared before the new window is installed. Lux uses full-frame replacement, selecting the appropriate installation method for each opening to ensure the window is securely attached and properly sealed and waterproofed.
What watershed protection do you install?
Windows need to do more than look good—they need to protect your home from water intrusion. Proper watershed protection is critical to the longevity of both your windows and your home. Lux installs RenoSHIELD, an advanced waterproofing system that exceeds industry standards. It uses a high-performance membrane to provide seamless protection and supports positive water drainage to the exterior.
Programs like the Clean Energy Improvement Program are making energy efficient upgrades more accessible for homeowners in Calgary and Edmonton.
Regardless of how a project is financed, the most important part of any renovation is making an informed decision. When it comes to new windows and doors, how they are installed matters just as much as the products themselves.
