One ENERGY STAR® Climate Zone for Canada

ENERGY STAR® products in Canada no longer reference a Climate Zone – now, one common standard applies to the entire country, coast to coast. This update provides clarity and makes it easier to confidently choose the right energy-efficient windows and doors for your home. With all products now rated for the coldest areas of the country, they’ll save even more energy than before. In fact, only 17% of the windows listed as ENERGY STAR® rated in 2019 are energy-efficient enough to qualify for the 2020 rating. This has resulted in a more refined ENERGY STAR® product selection, and while some products could cost more initially, they should deliver enhanced savings on energy bills in the future.
